I would like to introduce you to a wonderful entrepreneur, her name is Caroline Lacharme and she’s a great friend of mine. I have know Caroline since 2006, when my dear friend Benjamin introduced us at a party in Paris and since we have been close friends. Caroline is the type of über cool Parisian fashionista who seem to do style as effortless as drinking coffee is to others. Her style has always been something of a Carrie Bradshaw mix of sweet, cool and cosy. So it makes perfect sense for her to be making bags that fit perfectly for city life as well as travel or going out. She’s always making me discover some new music, some new place or some new people, a truly remarkable and generous friend!
When she travelled to Colombia and found the Wayuu people and their beautiful textile traditions, she took the opportunity to work with them and create PALOMI and together with her friend Caroline Millon they have taken on the business of ethical luxury handbags by creating a company in France.
Here is their “LE NUMERO 1” in black and cream. Finished with leather in France they have taken a traditional object and made it into a commercial and luxurious one.
I have created a series of illustrations for the brand, just because I love it!
Inspired by the nature of the desert and some of the photos Caroline showed me..
Here are some of the smaller and more colourful bags, also hanging out in nature.. Find the bags online, or in any of these shops listed below in France or Belgium..
